Music in Ireland: 1916 and Beyond
22-24 avril 2016, Dublin DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama: Dublin.
This conference will take place at the Dublin Institute of Technology's Conservatory of Music and Drama. It takes the centenary of the Easter Rising as a focal point from which to explore the impact of the Rising and subsequent events in Irish political and cultural history through the lens of music. Conference themes include but are not limited to:
Proposals are invited for the following:
Individual papers will be 20 minutes in duration, to be followed by 10 minutes of questions/discussion. Abstracts for proposals should not exceed 300 words. Proposals for panel discussions should include a brief outline of the theme of the session along with an abstract for each paper. Please also include your name, contact details, affiliation, and any technical requirements. Proposals should be sent as an attachment in Microsoft Word to Stephen McCann: musicireland1916 -at- gmail.com. The deadline for proposals is Monday 14 December 2015. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their proposals by mid-January 2016.
