J. S. Bach Dialogue Meeting
University of Warsaw, July 2013 Bach Network UK (BNUK) is excited to announce plans for the next J. S. Bach Dialogue Meeting, to be held in Warsaw in association with the Institute of Musicology, University of Warsaw, 3-7 July 2013. https://www.bachnetwork.org/dialogue-meeting-2013.html We are currently inviting proposals for Dialogue Session Groups (DSG) formed by three or four scholars who wish to explore a specific topic together over the coming year, and to present results for discussion at the meeting. In line with the vision and goals of the Dialogue Meeting proposals should give a brief description of three or four research questions to be addressed. Individuals are welcome to propose research papers for the 'Burning Issues' sessions. Doctoral students are encouraged to present a summary of their research at the Young Scholars' Forum. Proposals for both 'Burning Issues' and Young Scholars' Forum should be c.100 words. As our Dialogue Meeting will take place in a central-Eastern European setting it seems a prime opportunity to focus some sessions on Bach connections (e.g. the political ties Saxony-Poland/August II and III, lesser-known courts and music collections, Bach's pupils Mizler, Goldberg, Kirnberger and others) in this geographical area. Please send proposals to BNUK Advisory Council members Szymon Paczkowski (szpacz at wp.pl) and Ruth Tatlow (ruth.tatlow at gmail.com) by 21 October 2012.
